Be An Election Official

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Benton County Election Official!

In Benton County, we have approximately 300 Election Officials on hand to assist registered voters on Election Day. The Benton County Election Commission staffs 37 Election Day Vote Centers and approximately 15 Early Vote Centers during the two weeks before the Primary and General Election. Each Election Official is a part of the election process by which Americans select our leaders and have a voice in government.

Each position requires you to attend a one-day training class and pass a multiple-choice test. Being familiar with computers is helpful, as well as the ability to follow detailed written procedures.

If you would like to become an election official for Benton County, Arkansas, please fill out the application below and a staff member from the Election Commission will reach out to you. We appreciate your interest and service to your County.


    Election Official Qualifications:

    Please read the following required qualifications to become an Election Official for Benton County.

    • At least 18 years of age

    • Comfortable learning to work the Electronic Poll Books and the Voting Equipment

    • Comfortable working a 13–15-hour day (depending on the Election)

    • Able to stand and sit for long periods of time

    • Available for BOTH the Primary and General Elections in Even Number years

    • Be able to read and write the English language

    • Be able to get along with fellow election officials

    • Deal with voters in a courteous, efficient, and nonpartisan manner

    • Follow the procedures as set out in the Arkansas Election Law

    • Be willing to attend a one-day training class
