Statement of Purpose and Function of the County Election Commission
The Benton County Election Commission is a separate and independent unit of the county government. The Election Commission has the responsibility of conducting all Federal, State, County, and Local Elections occurring within Benton County. The Elections are administrated by and under the jurisdiction of the Benton County Board of Commissioners, in conjunction with State Election Laws, and State and Local authorities.
The county chair of the county committee of the majority party and the county chair of the county committee of the minority party shall be members of the county board of election commissioners together with one (1) additional or third member selected by the county committee of the majority party at the same time as the election of party officers. Any county chair of a county committee of the majority or minority party may elect not to serve as a member of the county board, and the county committee shall select a resident of the county qualified to serve in his or her stead.
Some counties such as Benton County have an Election Coordinator responsible for daily administration on behalf of the Election Commission.

Notification
The chair of the county board of election commissioners shall notify all members of the commission of all meetings. Ark. Code Ann. 7-4-105(a).
Quorum/Voting
Two commissioners shall constitute a quorum. Each commissioner shall have one vote, and two concurring votes shall decide any questions before the county board of election commissioners unless otherwise provided by law. Ark. Code Ann. 7-4-105(a).
