The Benton County Community Risk Reduction Department has changed its name to the Building Safety Department. The Building Safety Department is responsible for building permits, inspections and code compliance for unincorporated Benton County. The department falls under Public Safety and is overseen by Benton County Fire Marshal Gary Yarno. Residents building a commercial or residential structure in unincorporated Benton County can request an inspection or permit through the Benton County website.
“The name change to Building Safety provides a clearer message to our customers about what we do for the County,” said Benton County Fire Marshal Gary Yarno. “We are committed to making the building process in Benton County easy and safe for everyone.”

About Building Safety
The Benton County Building Safety Department was first established in 2006. The Building Safety Department is staffed by two Permitting Specialists and four Building Inspectors. The Department enforces the 2021 Arkansas Fire Prevention Code for residential and commercial structures built in unincorporated Benton County.
