I’m currently in my first term as Assessor and began my employment with Benton County in 2015 when I was hired as Chief Deputy Assessor. Since that time, I’ve earned both the Level IV, Senior Appraiser; and Level IV, Senior Administrator designations from the State Assessment Coordination Department in Little Rock, and the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO).
I’ve been involved in the Northwest Arkansas real estate market for over 30 years, as a certified real property appraiser; a licensed real estate broker & property manager; and now as Benton County Assessor. I’m a State Certified General Appraiser specializing in commercial property valuation and have been valuing both commercial and residential property in Benton and Washington counties since 1988. Prior to establishing my private appraisal practice in 1997, I was the owner and principal broker of the Coldwell Banker (real estate brokerage & property management) office in Bella Vista from 1989 until I sold the office in 1999 to devote all of my efforts to my growing appraisal practice.
I’ve attained over 1000 hours of advanced real estate education, with over 250 hours specific to both real estate and personal property valuation for Ad Valorem Tax purposes. I’m a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and a Graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI).
I’ve been a Benton County resident since 1987, and a small business owner since 1978. My wife Carolyn and I live in rurban Benton County, between Bentonville and Bella Vista.
